Lady bug raceway!
Lady bug race way is what I have named this rug. This one was made for my mother-in-law. I made it for her birthday. The colors were chosen to go with some other nick nacks we gave her over the years. I called it lady bug race way because she had a dog she would call ladybug. She collects many lady bug items because of that. The dog has since passed away. But was a very special dog to her. So she collects many ladybug stuff because of that reason. One of the items we gave her was a tea cup set. The tea cups were yellow and of course the ladybugs were on it. This rugs colors were chosen to match that set. It got its name ladybug for the ladybugs she collects and the raceway came from the oval shape and stripes. This rug was very large to go in a laundry room. It measures 96x20. I hope you enjoy it.

Graduation Lei
As you know it is graduation season. This year I had a couple of graduates I had to make gifts for. I love making these lei's cause they make a good gift along with something fun for the graduate. This first one I did was just a candy lei. Adorned with ribbon with class of 2016 on it. Blue and gold ribbon to match there school colors. Blue and gold beads for a little bling and more splashes of color. It also has a foam 2016 gift tag on it for more fun and decoration. Candy consisted of tic tac's , gum, momento's, and various mints. It was made for my sons fiancé's brother. What fun it was to make. Sometimes I make these with money on them. But this one I didn't. I don't know him quite that well yet. But it was a joy to make it for him. I chose mints, gum and memento's so they wouldn't melt on the way to Las Vegas. Here is the first one I made this year.
Here is the second one I made. It contained the same candy and bling as the other one. Thankfully there colors were exactly the same. So it made it easy on me. There were very similar. The main differance was of course the money flowers were added. This was made for my sisters son. Enjoy!
Hope you liked them as much as I did. I was very pleased at how they turned out. I believe the graduates liked them very much as well.

Artist flops!
So I started a new rug. It was suppose to be a rectangle rug. Rectangle it is not. Such is the life of an artist. Not everything turns out wonderful. We all make mistakes and some things don't turn out exactly as planned. But I have learned from my mistake and will not do it again. Here is my rectangle rug that isn't rectangle at all.

#1
This is number one of my new adventures into a new rug making style. This is called a toothbrush rug. It is made using a tooth brush looking tool. I have enjoyed doing this one. It is my first. I used all sorts of scrap material. Many colors and prints. Finally finished it and sent it to its new home. A gift to a number one mom. I will be making more of these for sure. I have really enjoyed making this rug. New challenges can really bring out the creative juices. Hope you enjoy this.

Sneak peek!
Here is a sneak peek of my latest project. I have been using up many of my scraps lately. This rug I am making currently is a completely different type of rug. It is called a tooth brush rug. It is a fun technique. It uses just fabric. You don't even need a mat to work off of. I have enjoyed learning this new technique. I can't wait to share the completed project. But you have to be patient. I will share the completed view soon.
Stayed tuned for the completed version.
Baby scrappy!
Introducing baby scrappy. This is the second complete scrap rug I have done. Just using what ever there was no specific order or color skeem. It isn't very big. But pretty mighty. It is amazing how you can put ugly fabric with pretty fabric and make something so cheerful.

Christmas 2015 "The Tea Garden" !!
Made for my sister. She loves tea and that is why I gave it this name "The Tea Garden". Filled with the colors you might find in a Tea Garden. Therefore very fitting of its name. This was the last of my crafty projects for the holiday's.
Christmas 2015 Project number #2 " Jolly Gingerbread man"!!!!
This project was super fun. I love gingerbread man. A table runner for the holidays a gift for my mother. Made with a lot of hard work and love.
Christmas 2015 project number 1!!!
This Christmas was filled with a few projects I completed this past year. Finally finished and gifted to the new owners. Project number one would have to be my son's quilt. He is in the Air force and is my number one airman. I chose his material with the military theme in mind. With camo print, Dog tags, Air force logo's and various other military sayings etc. Very proud at how this one came out. This is the front of the quilt with close up pictures so you can see some of the fabric.
Here is a view of the back of the quilt. This is the old air force logo. That was all I could get on material. They did not carry any air force material that had the current logo. So that this is what I got. Still looks pretty good in my book.
Almost forgot the pillow cases I made to match.
Bunny's!!!!
Found this darling pattern on Pinterest and just had to make these for Easter. It was so much fun to make them from all my scrap materials. Some of the bunny's were made to match the person receiving it's quilt that I made for them. What a fun project. So pleased they came out so nice. often times some of the stuff on Pinterest doesn't come out so good. But this was definitely not a failed Pinterest project. These were made in April of 2015.

Twin Coasters!!!
Twin coasters were made for a friend to match her twin rugs. She loves nature. Browns, creams and green are her favorite colors. Now she has matching coasters to go with the rugs. Should be a great addition to her rugs. These we made some time in January 2015. But I didn't share them yet. I am playing catch up on my posting. Happy New year to all.

Freedom!!!
Freedom is an amazing thing. I am so grateful to be free. With that said here is my Freedom rug. This one wasn't made with someone special in mind. I just liked the one fabric on the outside and wanted to see what it would look like in a rug. It was squares of red and blue and white. By adding the red and the blue colors to it. I feel it made a perfect freedom rug. Enjoy
Here is a closer look
This rug has since found a new home. I sure hope it is enjoyed. I loved making this one. Hope you enjoy it as well.

Salsa!!
Introducing the newest rug Salsa. This rug is 18X20. This rug will be raffled at a retreat in California. This retreat is for the spinners and weavers group. Can't wait to see how much they like it. Hope they get some good money for there club. They picked out the colors and I did the work. This rug was a lot of fun. It was super quick unlike some of the others I have done. This was my first one that I didn't put a border on it. Hope it's new owner enjoys it as much as I did making it.
This next picture is a bit closer so you can see it better.

Organization!!!
This weekend I was organizing my sewing room. Really excited about some of the changes I am making in here. It is long over do. Now things will be organized better. I am not being creative today. This is very sad. Was hoping I would be able to. But, The organization needed to be done. It will make me more efficient and hopefully things will be easier to find. So after this there will be an explosion of creations. Not sure if I will be able to post them for a while though. Cause like I said before I tend to make most things as gifts. So you will have to wait to see them complete till they have been given to the rightful owner. But today I will be posting pictures of my new storage shelves and the new storage stations. Oh what fun! Can't wait to share. This first photo is of the jar I found to display my ribbon and lace in. Jar from Walmart and tongue depressors to wind ribbon etc on to.
This next photo is my jar wall. Shelves on the top are from Ikea. Below are magnet knife holders also from Ikea. On the magnets are baby food jars. I collected those jars from a few ladies out here in the valley I live in. One of the cool things about this wall display is the jars on the shelves. These jars are compliments of my step dad Fred. He absolutely loves jelly and they used to make jelly all the time and canned it for later. Well they haven't done it in years. But they saved all these lovely jars. I love them. Each one has various fruit embossed on them. They are very old ones. New lids of course. I think they are my favorite thing about this wall. So now I have a place for all the different colored snaps, buttons, bells, beads etc. I think I like it. Places for everything.

Purple People Eater!!
Here is the latest project I just finished. I started this one before
the twins. But, the twins shoved there way in the line up so I put this
one on hold. The inspiration for this rug would have to be the purple
walls in my laundry room. This rug contains various purple material. I
was sorting the material I had into main colors. These were the ones I
came up with. Purple is one of my favorite colors as well. So this one
made me really happy to do. When you love the color it is so much easier to love the project. Hmm!! What to do next. My list of projects is endless. Guess I have to get the creative juices flowing and get busy.

Christmas 2014
This Christmas I couldn't think of what to do for gifts. So decided to look to pinterest for an inspiration. So this year for the ladies in my family I made. Re-usable paper towels. It was a lot of fun to make these. Wasn't sure how they would all take them. Some of us are into recycling and others are not. They went over pretty well. I was very pleased at how they turned out and have since made some from wash cloths for myself.
Along my journey on pinterest. I found some very cute ideas for giving money as gift. I have two nieces I wasn't sure what to get them. So rather than buy them something they might not like or maybe couldn't use. I decided to give them cash. Who doesn't like cash. But, I wanted to have something for them to open. So I got creative with my cash. Thanks to the many ideas on pinterest.
The saying on this one came from pinterest. But the padding of the money was our idea. Pretty fun!! Yes, she was very thrilled with her creative money gift.
Here is the second one we did. Thanks to pinterest.
I think we just had way to much fun with these. And they were received very well.

Meet "The Twins"
I would like to introduce you to what I call "The Twins". These locker hooked rugs were made for a dear friend of my mothers. She asked me if I would make here a pair of rugs and they had to be the same. When you are doing locker hooking it can be a challenge. Fabric does stretch. So placement of color can be a challenge. She asked me to make it random. Similar to one of my other rugs. So this is what she got.
This one is a close up of the colors.
My mom's friend picked the colors and I did the rest. I really love how they turned out. She said random and this is for sure random. You won't see any dirt on these. I have to tell you a funny thing though. After I make a rug it isn't complete without putting it on the floor and stepping on it. So after every rug I make I have to put my tootsies on them all. And of course my kids laugh at me when I do this cause it is a big deal to me and I make it that way. I sure have enjoyed making these rugs. Little splashes of color.

Midnight Snack Complete!!!!
Well the midnight snack is complete now. Binding is on and it is quilted. Yippee!! We got to sleep under it for the first night. And let me tell you it was good. I didn't get sucked into the duvet. I was sure glad to get rid of that. That was the best part. Funny thing is it didn't cause me to have that midnight snack that everyone was warning me about. Didn't even need that bottle of tums. :)
This thing is huge!! 120X120. We wanted it large so it would cover the entire California king size bed and the pillows. It worked great. Totally love it. After I had it quilted my mom decided that we needed matching pillow cases. So she made us matching pillow cases. What fun is that. Mom's are the best aren't they? I sure love her and It was a great idea. So here they are. One matching set in flannel like the backer. One set with different patterns for each of us. Like his and hers.
This picture shows a bit of the backer. Yes, That is the midnight snack. Flannel for extra softness.
And last but not least the final on the bed view.

Dalmatian!
Dalmatians blast from my past. Remembered this when I was at my mother-in-laws house the other day. decided to get a picture of it to post. This was done by me in 1996. It is counted cross stitch. I haven't done any counted cross stitch in a while. But this one is still one of my favorites. My mother in-law has had many dalmatians in the past and she just loves them. And who couldn't resist the white and black spots. Very active and fun loving dogs for sure. Just thought I would post this old creation from my past.
