Lady bug raceway!

Lady bug race way is what I have named this rug. This one was made for my mother-in-law. I made it for her birthday. The colors were chosen to go with some other nick nacks we gave her over the years. I called it lady bug race way because she had a dog she would call ladybug. She collects many lady bug items because of that. The dog has since passed away. But was a very special dog to her. So she collects many ladybug stuff because of that reason. One of the items we gave her was a tea cup set. The tea cups were yellow and of course the ladybugs were on it. This rugs colors were chosen to match that set. It got its name ladybug for the ladybugs she collects and the raceway came from the oval shape and stripes. This rug was very large to go in a laundry room. It measures 96x20. I hope you enjoy it.

Graduation Lei

As you know it is graduation season.  This year I had a couple of graduates I had to make gifts for.  I love making these lei's cause they make a good gift along with something fun for the graduate. This first one  I did was just a candy lei. Adorned with ribbon with class of 2016 on it. Blue and gold ribbon to match there school colors. Blue and gold beads for a little bling and more splashes of color. It also has a foam 2016 gift tag on it for more fun and decoration. Candy consisted of tic tac's , gum, momento's, and various mints. It was made for my sons fiancĂ©'s brother. What fun it was to make. Sometimes I make these with money on them. But this one I didn't. I don't know him quite that well yet. But it was a joy to make it for him. I chose mints, gum and memento's so they wouldn't melt on the way to Las Vegas. Here is the first one I made this year.
Here is the second one I made. It contained the same candy and bling as the other one. Thankfully there colors were exactly the same. So it made it easy on me. There were very similar. The main differance was of course the money flowers were added. This was made for my sisters son. Enjoy!

Hope you liked them as much as I did. I was very pleased at how they turned out. I believe the graduates liked them very much as well.

Artist flops!

So I started a new rug. It was suppose to be a rectangle rug.  Rectangle it is not. Such is the life of an artist. Not everything turns out wonderful. We all make mistakes and some things don't turn out exactly as planned. But I have learned from my mistake and will not do it again. Here is my rectangle rug that isn't rectangle at all.

#1

This is number one of my new adventures into a new rug making style. This is called a toothbrush rug. It is made using a tooth brush looking tool. I have  enjoyed doing this one. It is my first. I used all sorts of scrap material. Many colors and prints. Finally finished it and sent it to its new home. A gift to a number one mom. I will be making more of these for sure. I have really enjoyed making this rug. New challenges can really bring out the creative juices. Hope you enjoy this.

Sneak peek!

Here is a sneak peek of my latest project. I have been using up many of my scraps lately. This rug I am making currently is a completely different type of rug. It is called a tooth brush rug. It is a fun technique. It uses just fabric. You don't even need a mat to work off of. I have enjoyed learning this new technique. I can't wait to share the completed project. But you have to be patient. I will share the completed view soon.

Stayed tuned for the completed version.

Baby scrappy!

Introducing baby scrappy. This is the second complete scrap rug I have done. Just using what ever there was no specific order or color skeem. It isn't very big. But pretty mighty. It is amazing how you can put ugly fabric with pretty fabric and make something so cheerful.

Huge scrappy!

This rug is the largest rug I have done. I called it huge scrappy because it is just that. Huge and made from tons of scrap fabric. The rug measures 36x58. It is very big. Usually I give my projects away. But this one I decided to keep. It is displayed proudly by my front door. Lots of colors. Scraps from lots of other projects. I just love being creative.

Here is a closer view. So you can see all the colors.

Christmas 2015 "The Tea Garden" !!

Made for my sister. She loves tea and that is why I gave it this name "The Tea Garden". Filled with the colors you might find in a Tea Garden. Therefore very fitting of its name. This was the last of my crafty projects for the holiday's.

Christmas 2015 Project number #2 " Jolly Gingerbread man"!!!!

This project was super fun. I love gingerbread man. A table runner for the holidays a gift for my mother. Made with a lot of hard work and love.

Christmas 2015 project number 1!!!

This Christmas was filled with a few projects I completed this past year. Finally finished and gifted to the new owners. Project number one would have to be my son's quilt. He is in the Air force and is my number one airman. I chose his material with the military theme in mind. With camo print, Dog tags, Air force logo's and various other military sayings etc. Very proud at how this one came out. This is the front of the quilt with close up pictures so you can see some of the fabric.

Here is a view of the back of the quilt. This is the old air force logo. That was all I could get on material. They did not carry any air force material that had the current logo. So that this is what I got. Still looks pretty good in my book.

Almost forgot the pillow cases I made to match.

Bunny's!!!!

Found this darling pattern on Pinterest and just had to make these for Easter. It was so much fun to make them from all my scrap materials. Some of the bunny's were made to match the person receiving it's quilt that I made for them. What a fun project. So pleased they came out so nice. often times some of the stuff on Pinterest doesn't come out so good. But this was definitely not a failed Pinterest project. These were made in April of 2015.

Twin Coasters!!!

Twin coasters were made for a friend to match her twin rugs. She loves nature. Browns, creams and green are her favorite colors. Now she has matching coasters to go with the rugs. Should be a great addition to her rugs. These we made some time in January 2015. But I didn't share them yet. I am playing catch up on my posting. Happy New year to all.
